My passion for animals began long before I entered the veterinary profession. Growing up in South Dakota, I was drawn to the natural world and fascinated by the incredible diversity of life around us. From an early age, I found myself wondering not only how animals behaved, but why they behaved the way they did. That curiosity would eventually shape both my career and my life’s mission.

Today, I am a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 12 years of experience working with animals in a variety of settings, including companion animal medicine, animal behavior, and zoo animal care. I hold degrees in both Zoo Science and Veterinary Technology, and my professional journey has allowed me to work with species ranging from beloved household pets to some of the world’s most remarkable wildlife.

Throughout my career, I have become increasingly drawn to the field of behavior. I believe behavior is one of the most powerful tools we have for understanding animals. Every behavior serves a purpose, communicates a need, and tells a story about an individual’s experience of the world. By learning to listen and interpret those stories, we can create stronger relationships, improve welfare, and build greater trust between humans and animals.

I am currently working toward my Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Behavior and continue to pursue advanced education in behavior medicine, Fear Free practices, cooperative care training, feline welfare, and low-stress handling techniques. I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I remain eager to grow alongside the animals, professionals, and communities I serve.

While I am honored to work with a variety of species, felines hold a special place in my heart. As a devoted cat guardian and lifelong feline enthusiast, I am fascinated by all members of the feline family—from the domestic cats who share our homes to the wild cats that roam ecosystems around the world. Their adaptability, intelligence, and complexity continue to inspire both my professional interests and personal studies.

My passion for animals extends beyond companion species. Time spent working in a zoological setting deepened my appreciation for wildlife, conservation, and the interconnectedness of all living beings. Looking ahead, I hope to continue expanding my education in animal behavior, wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, and welfare while contributing to a future where humans and animals coexist with greater understanding and respect.

Travel, exploration, and lifelong learning are central to who I am. Whether I am standing beside the ocean, hiking through the mountains, studying animal behavior, or meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, I am continually reminded that we are all connected by our shared experience of life on this planet.

The vision behind Sentient Harmony is simple: to help bridge the gap between species through education, compassion, and understanding. My goal is not only to help people navigate behavioral challenges but also to foster a deeper appreciation for the emotional and behavioral lives of animals. Through that understanding, I believe we can create a more harmonious world for all sentient beings.

Thank you for visiting Sentient Harmony. I look forward to being part of your journey and helping strengthen the bond you share with the animals in your life.
